As I walked out of Star Wars in IMAX 3D, I couldn’t contain my excitement. I made an agreement with my friends that we wouldn’t talk about the movie until we get to my car (I drove) lest we ruin the plot for the fans waiting in line.
When I got into my car and started her up, I witnessed the most amazing thing.
A family of 4 walked over to a white Acura RDX, then the father pulled at the door handle. The car wouldn’t open. He looked side to side, absolutely dumbfounded. He kept yanking on it, slowly at first, then quicker and with more force. It got to the point where I thought he was going to break it. I could hear his wife yelling at him to hurry up, so he started bumbling more.
After a solid minute of this (my friends and I couldn’t look away), he pulled out his key fob and pressed the unlock button.
A white RAV4 flashed its lights 5 cars down.
He waved on his family, they got into their fridge car and went along their merry way.
Don’t get an appliance, get a car.

I used to have a green explorer. Leaving a store, I got in the truck and tried to start it but the key wouldn;t turn. I then realized that it was not mine. It was a green explorer and even had the grey interior. The guy must have left it unlocked. I quickly got out and found my truck and got outta there

That’s hilarious. I wish most cars weren’t purchased in deeply conservative color combinations these days. It seems like everything on the road is black, white, or grey. Everyone just wants to blend in.

My parents passed down a black 99 Taurus to my sister. she once walked out of Walmart, got in the car, STARTED IT, drove about five feet away, and noticed there was a purse in the passenger seat that wasn’t her, and a cat seat in the back, she didn’t have a child at the time.
She unlocked, started and drove off in some one else’s black Ford Taurus.

What are the odds! I figured every key for a specific model was unique.... but I guess if the cylinders are worn and the key is close enough it would work? That’s crazy

Yeah I think quality, or a duplicate key, may have been the issue, at the time the car would have only been 5 years old. 5 years of use seems like pretty quick for both the door, and ignition to be so warn out it would take any key.
Speaking of warn ignitions I lost the key to my 91 Civic so I used the key from a Mazda I had at the time. I continued to do that for about a month before I finally cleaned my car and found my keys under the spare tire, I must have put them there for safe keeping, then forgot about it.

This is one of the reasons I like having a car that is a unique color. Well I don’t mine’s black, but my wife’s is Tide Water blue, which is baby blue, or Lavender depending on the light. There is one other Fit the same color in town. I always try to wave to it when I see it.
